Without exception, travelers from all over the world who set foot in this place fall in love and already plan a trip back, before they even leave the place. Embalse el Yeso is actually a reservoir of water that originates in the Andes Mountains at approximately 3,000 meters of altitude, with a capacity to store 250,000,000 m3 of water; which makes it the main source of drinking water for the entire Chilean capital. The reservoir was formed through the damming of the Yeso River, part of the Maipo River basin, which took more than 10 years to build, the inauguration of the place finally happened in 1964.
